Editors

I just found out that Editors are releasing a new album in July. I have no idea how this news could be escaping me for so long. Anyway, here's the first teaser of their fourth full-length record, a song called A Ton of Love. Had I not known it was from Editors, I honestly wouldn't recognise them. It sounds so much different from anything they have released so far and completely contradicts the direction they had taken with In This Light and on This Evening.

I wasn't impressed with the song at first, but after a while, it grows on you. In Tom Smith's own words, the band was going towards a more straightforward sound of bands like R.E.M. or Arcade Fire, and the album was mostly recorded live. Nothing wrong with that. The Weight of Love comes out July 1st. Thoughts?

I Can See Through You

Check out this new hypnotic video from The Horrors. Their latest album Skying is arguably one of the best things released this year.

I know that the blog has been looking rather dead lately. Frankly, there just hasn't been much worth writing about. Here's to hoping it will change for the better soon... :)

I Touch a Red Button

Interpol recently colaborated with David Lynch and the result is this animated short film. It features the band's song Lights. Typical Lynch.

Cut City

Well, here's a recommendation. I didn't know this swedish band until few hours ago, a friend of mine recommended them to me and I have to say I really liked what I've heard so far. So now I'm passing it onto you... Your thoughts?

Sadly, it's their last album. They're breaking up. I'll add some more info later. Stay tuned...

"Dreams of long life, what safety can you find?"

I just stumbled across some live music videos of my beloved band Interpol. I've got only one question, who the hell is Fred Armisen?

"If judgement day started tonight, at least I'd know I was right and I'd be laughing at the end of the world"

Just like in 2009, the new year kicks off with another album from London post-punk revivalists White Lies. Their sophomore record is due out on January 17 and you can hear the lead single, Bigger Than Us, here.

I'm getting really excited for the new album. Their debut sold nearly a million copies and even made it to my AOTY list of that year.

On My Own

Boy Kill Boy split up in 2008. Civilian was a great album.

Interpol's new song

Finally some news from my beloved band Interpol. They're releasing a brand new song for free, downloadable on their official website.

"Lights is taken from sessions for their fourth album. According to the band, the song will be the first of several to be released in the next few months.
Interpol have been working on the follow-up to 2007's Our Love To Admire in New York and London, and are believed to be finalising release plans for an album later this year. According to frontman Paul Banks, Interpol's new record will have an orchestra feel." (NME)
